FLOWER FESTIVAL
The weekend of 14th 15th and 16th of June, Wesley took part in the Caerphilly Flower Festival. This is an annual event sponsored by Caerphilly Town Council, open to all.
The flowers around Caerphilly Town are always beautiful and come into their own as part of the flower festival.
Twyn Community Centre, the Library and eight Churches around the town took part and opened their doors, Friday and Saturday from 10am. to 4pm. and Sunday after morning service, to 4pm.
Churches are free to choose their own theme creating interest and variety.
Our theme this year was
“Tales from Childhood”
We created presentations depicting stories from childhood using them to create a quiz for children to work out the stories and earn themselves a chocolate bar.
The occasion went really well with many members welcoming people into the Church, or talking about our Church and the displays.
Others helped with refreshments or baked cakes for our improvised Cafe behind the pulpit.
Our Flower Festival as you will see from the photographs was a great success bringing the Church together and giving us an opportunity to show Wesley Methodist Church in all its glory to locals and visitors to the town.
Sid Chandler and Alison Lewis manned the organ throughout,🎶🎹🎶 helping towards the warm peaceful atmosphere in the Church.
The overhead screens showed us pictures reminding us of the many past flower festival arrangements.
There was room for everyone to get involved and the Church members rose to the occasion. We at Wesley worry that most of us are not flower arrangers but yet again the Church looked stunning and the comments were amazing.
